Hope yearly uses free-will offerings to fund “Hope Scholars” – college scholarships for 4-year, 2-year, 1-year certificate and vocational education.  Undergirding this effort: a belief that labor in any career is a divine calling.  In U.S. culture, debt marks the most common “prison” the average citizen faces, and since August 2010 student loan debt is the largest wedge of consumer debt.  We offer Hope Scholarships to any high school senior, graduate (or equivalent), or current undergraduate student of any age who attends Hope or has a parent who does and who writes a 1-page essay.  Hope also provides two equal-value scholarships beyond the Hope family to a faculty-selected senior from Lake Nona High and Oak Ridge High – an at-risk school whose purchase of a now-closed Presbyterian church provided funds that helped launch Hope.  In addition, Hope funds a separate ‘Hope for the Future’ community service scholarship to a Lake Nona High School senior.
Since 2012, Hope Scholars has provided 60 college scholarships totaling over $81,000.
